Mammal Day

June 3,14 Little Rascals is going out to Crowder State Park, our local state park to attend Mammal Day. The kids have been learning about Mammals for the past few weeks to get ready for this event. Our same tour guide we had on the nature walk will be teaching us about the mammals and skins.

Afterward we will be having a hot dog roast with smores to follow. I have a great turnout with the families here at Little Rascals and hope it wont rain us out. Look for upcoming pictures of our Mammal Day.

Night Shift

I am very excited to announce that we have now started our Night Shift. We have been working toward this for some time now and finally have it going. It has taken a lot of work but is so worth it. I am doing a preschool curriculum with my older boy and getting lesson plans planned out for the rest of the week.

To cut down on time as well, I made double for lunch so that I don’t have to try and fix supper again. This is working great, beings that im not a big fan on cooking.

Dental Week

So we decided to do a dental week with the kids and had the health department come out and teach them a little about taking care of their teeth. She talked about how to brush, floss and mouth wash. The kids took tooth brushes and practiced brushing in a circle motion on the animals. They all had fake teeth in. The kids had a very fun time and got to ask many questions.

Sleep Training

So I decided to sleep train my 5 month old today because his napping in the day is horrible. He may get 1hr.45min throughout the whole day. I spend half my day trying to get him to sleep and I just cannot do that.

So I am doing the sooth method where you let them cry for a few minutes then go give them cuddles but no talking. I rub his back and let the bear sing and make sure he has his Binky. I get him calmed down by patting his bottom and then I go back in another room for a few minutes until he calms down and goes to sleep.

His morning took only about 7 minutes of fussing and crying and this method for us is working great. Eventually it is designed to help him fall asleep on his own and also put himself back to sleep. I am as we speak working on his second nap. This one has taken a little longer but he is calming down nicely. I was so terrified that he wouldn’t do well that I have been dreading doing it. I hope the next few days are this easy. I loved rocking him but he needs to learn to sooth himself.

He is now asleep so it took 16min from start to finish for him to fall asleep and only 9 min was fussing. Not to bad:)
Anyways… I hope this helps someone sleep train there little one and if you need support while your doing it let me know.
